The WC was in a separate tiny-little closet off of the main room. I retrieved my map and returned to the gate which had now closed, and put in the code, which it did not accept. We had been advised of the code prior to our visit so we were able to easily gain access. After a longish drive from the ferry at St Malo, we arrived at this fairytale location on a sunlit Saturday evening. We ate 2 nights in a row in the hotel after having issues in another restaurant due to allergen contamination. The major challenge was to avoid overeating! Ambience outside taking a drink in the sun is a total chill factor....perfect. Indeed, given that the hotel was full, including 2 large groups, the quality & presentation of the food at dinner was exceptional. Hotel was very modern and comfortable, our room overlooked the terrace and river and we did not hear any noise from either as the double glazing was very good and we used the air conditioning whilst we were there as the temperatures were in the low thirties. A joy for the taste buds. Again the setting on the terrace was great but the staff really are not managed well. I did have the hotelâs main telephone number which was also displayed on a sign next to the gate. We have different kind of room in our hotel : standard street view, river street view, privilege with balcony and castel view, attic rooms fors 4 people or Luxe rooms with bath and castle view. The room had a view out over the hotel courtyard and over the hotel swimming pool. We had ants in the bed and this may have been an one off occurrence. Broke a long drive from perpignan to cherbourg staying here....unfortunately arrived late & missed restaurant (closes 2130). I went to reception and reported the problem. The public areas of the hotel were all very well maintained. We were not disappointed, excellent presentation , fabulous food really really food. Lighting was good, both from strip lights that were integral to the mirror, and also from a window next to the sink. Our room had a balcony overlooking the beautiful bridge, river and view of the substantial castle. Lovely outside bar area overlooking the river. Such a lovely village! Breakfast was also very good, buffet style, nice fresh pastries. We ate in the restaurant and had a lovely meal of steak frites followed by a platter of local cheese. Sadly the weather wasn't good at all during our stay but that didn't stop us enjoying the hotel! Any dog owners staying, beware of metal walkway around side of hotel as it has small holes in it which is very dangerous to dogs claws.
